Eleven people have died following an ammonia gas leak at the industrial complex in Aqaba. The leak occurred during maintenance work on one of the old pumps or pressure devices, where accumulated ammonia gas previously led to the leakage. The incident was quickly brought under control, and precautionary evacuation procedures were carried out. The injured received light to moderate treatment, some at the clinic and others in the hospital. Authorities will ensure safety after an additional inspection to confirm there are no hazards before workers return to their sites.
