The article tells the story of an American weapons systems officer known by the code name "Bravo," who shot down his F-15E fighter jet over Iranian territory last April. It describes how he then endured more than 50 hours in dangerous conditions in a rugged mountainous area during a U.S. rescue attempt. "Bravo" was bruised and fractured after jumping from the fighter when it was hit by an Iranian missile, facing significant survival challenges such as climbing steep elevations and evading Iranian forces. U.S. forces managed to rescue him after about six hours, aided by covert operations and intelligence deception, despite complex aerial and ground obstacles, and the mission incurred substantial material losses. The story reveals rare details about the rescue operation and sparks political debate over its timing and related media disinformation, with the Ministry of Defense affirming that the operation was voluntary and that no classified information was disclosed.
