Emirati Delegation Assesses Hajj Fund
The Minister of Awqaf and Holy Islamic Sites in Jordan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hajj Fund, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalayla, discussed with the Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat in the UAE, Dr. Omar Habbatur Al-Duri, and the accompanying delegation, ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the fields of Hajj and endowments. The UAE delegation was briefed on the Jordanian Hajj Fund’s experience in managing Hajj pilgrims’ savings and investments, services provided to pilgrims, mechanisms for managing savers’ funds, electronic services, as well as its financing and investment programs, along with updates on the number of savers, the total savings, and investment returns. Both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation to develop the working system and improve services offered to pilgrims, noting that the Jordanian Hajj Fund is considered a pioneering model in savings and investment in accordance with Islamic law.
