Exports increase 10.3% in early 2026
Total national exports increased by 4.6% during the first seven months of 2026, reaching a value of 5,509 million dinars. Re-exports grew by 67.2%, reaching 886 million dinars. The total exports, including both domestic and re-exports, rose by 10.3% to 6,395 million dinars. The growth was mainly driven by sectors such as clothing, fertilizers, and raw potash, with exports to Syria increasing by 33.8%, China by 74.8%, and the European Union by 20.3%. Conversely, imports rose by 2.4% to 11,585 million dinars, with significant increases in raw oil and its derivatives, which grew by 45.8%. As a result, the trade deficit decreased by 6.0%, reaching approximately 5,190 million dinars. The coverage ratio of exports to imports increased to 55%, up from 51% in the same period last year.
