The article discusses the phenomenon of searching for hidden treasures and relics in Jordan. It is told that many people indulge in adventures involving digging and exploring for buried gold from the past, often to settle debts or to build a better life. Several reasons drive them to do this, including hopes of quick wealth, the influence of traditional folklore, and the use of tools such as maps, devices, and scavengers, despite the lack of conclusive evidence of the existence of real treasures. Sometimes, these activities lead to tragic outcomes, such as accidents resulting in fatalities due to reckless digging, significant financial losses, and the exploitation of scammers taking advantage of the searchers' dreams. The article calls for increased awareness and emphasizes the importance of reporting any suspicious discoveries to security and archaeological authorities. It also urges to avoid continued excavations that could threaten the lives of those involved and harm the country's historical heritage.
