Nine Syrians' fate unclear after Black Sea sinking
The Syrian authorities reported that nine sailors, including Syrians and an Egyptian, are missing following the sinking of a commercial ship in the Black Sea as a result of a drone attack within Bulgaria's economic zone. Investigations are ongoing by the International Maritime Organization and Bulgarian maritime authorities to determine the cause of the incident and establish responsibility, with confirmation that the civilian vessel was seriously targeted and efforts to continue search and rescue operations have not been halted so far. This incident comes after another attack on a Turkish ship in the same area, raising concerns about potential escalation in the Black Sea and its impact on international navigation security.
