Houthi claims downing Saudi helicopter
The Yemeni Houthi group announced that they shot down a Saudi Apache military helicopter off Najran during a military operation on the border. The group's military spokesperson stated that the aircraft was downed using appropriate weaponry without providing additional details about the type of weapon or the fate of the crew. The Saudi side has not issued any comment on the incident. This announcement comes amid ongoing military escalation since July 2026, which has included attacks on provinces and civilian aviation and energy facilities inside Saudi Arabia, in addition to coalition forces destroying ballistic missile launch pads in Yemen.
