Insurance Expert Discusses Retirement Salary Costs
Insurance experts have concluded that improving low retirement benefits requires implementing Article 89/A of the Social Security Law, which stipulates reviewing the minimum pension every five years to ensure a decent life for retirees with modest pensions. Estimates indicate that the increased expenditure resulting from raising the minimum will amount to approximately 34 million dinars annually, benefiting around 96,000 retirees. Meanwhile, 278 retirees receive pensions close to 7,000 dinars per month, with annual disbursements of about 24 million dinars. The experts criticized the concerns expressed by some segments of society regarding social security funds, emphasizing that enhancing low pensions is a necessity to secure retirees' rights and alleviate their hardships.
