Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday instructed the armed forces to respond immediately and effectively to any threat, without geographical restrictions, and to update their target list to include U.S. and Israeli assets. He called for heightened combat readiness and stronger intelligence and defensive capabilities, warning that Iran’s armed forces and people would determine the course and outcome of any military attack. The directives come as Khamenei has not appeared in public since taking office as supreme leader last March, despite issuing written statements.
