Princess Aya bint Faisal said Jordanian sport had made significant progress and achieved success at the continental and international levels. These achievements include the national football team qualifying for the World Cup for the first time and the basketball team reaching the World Cup finals three times. She called for building on these successes by identifying and nurturing talent, expanding girls’ participation, and strengthening Jordan’s presence in volleyball and international competitions. She stressed that investment in sport and partnerships between the public and private sectors could turn these achievements into sustainable economic opportunities, alongside the development of infrastructure and the hosting of more tournaments and training camps in the Kingdom.
