The Greater Amman Municipality, through Amman Vision Company, has contracted three companies to provide cleaning services. They employ around 1,800 workers and are responsible for sweeping and collecting waste in 17 areas, while Municipality crews cover the remaining areas. The Municipality’s vehicles collect around 3,500 tonnes of waste daily using a fleet of approximately 215 vehicles. Each Jordanian generates between 800 and 900 grams of waste per day. The Municipality plans to conduct a study to regulate the times when waste is put out, improve vehicle collection schedules and increase service efficiency.
