Hebrew Media Revisit 10/7
Al Jazeera’s investigation, “Mohammed Deif: Secrets from Before the Flood,” drew interest from Israeli media after it aired recordings of Qassam Brigades leaders’ meetings inside tunnels and documents it said were related to preparations for the October 7, 2023 attack. Reports focused on a document dated October 5, 2023, which Al Jazeera said was an operational order signed by Deif after a six-hour meeting and set the attack to begin at 6:30 a.m., as well as a February 2023 document concerning the preparation phase. Israeli reports also questioned the recordings’ source and significance, citing assessments that Hamas may have provided them to Al Jazeera, while noting that these assessments and analyses have not been independently verified as facts.
