Iran says accord far off
A senior Iranian official said Tehran and Washington remain far from an agreement to end the war, and that Iran would not accept what he described as excessive U.S. demands. He added that the United States must meet Iran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, after which nuclear talks could begin, and warned that Iran would respond forcefully to any U.S. strikes. Mediators are continuing their efforts to narrow the differences and move negotiations toward an understanding that would end the war.
