Iran issues strike advice
Iranian television and media outlets published guidance for citizens on what to do in the event of a nuclear explosion, amid rising tensions and fears of a military confrontation. The instructions urged people not to look at the flash, and, if unable to get inside a building, to take cover behind a barrier, lie down, and protect their heads and faces. Once the blast wave had passed, they should head to the nearest building. The guidance warned against using cars as shelter. People indoors were advised to seek shelter in basements or central areas, close windows and doors, and turn off ventilation. It stressed that the video did not indicate that a nuclear strike was imminent.
