The book *Minds That Cannot Be Besieged*, written by Shireen Sbanikh and conceived by Lina Abu Shaaban, has won the 2026 International Prize for Arabic Children’s Literature in the “Chapter Book” category. It tells five true stories of children from Gaza who turned the challenges of war and blockade into innovations and solutions to support their families and communities. All proceeds from the book and the prize will go toward supporting the education of children in Gaza, in partnership with the Tamer Institute for Community Education and the Sumud Association.
