Shabab al-Fuheis Club announced that it would cancel Christmas celebrations and public festivities this year, limiting observances to prayers and religious services inside churches. It said the decision was made in solidarity with the residents of Karak Governorate following the incident at the church two weeks ago, and with the family of Corporal Jawad al-Salayta, who was killed while performing his duty. The club also called on businesses not to hold celebratory events.
