Jordan Eco Label Debuts
The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization launched the Jordanian Ecolabel (JO-Ecolabel) on Thursday, 5 November 2026. The first of its kind in the Kingdom and the region, it aims to promote the green economy and sustainable production and consumption. The label is awarded to products and services that meet scientific environmental criteria assessing their impact throughout their life cycle. It helps consumers choose environmentally friendly products and strengthens the competitiveness of national products and their access to global markets. The programme was developed over two years in cooperation with the ministries of Environment and of Industry, Trade and Supply, with technical support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
