Heavy rains flooded thousands of tents sheltering displaced people in various parts of the Gaza Strip. Water seeped inside and damaged families’ belongings, while two Palestinians were injured when a wall of a building damaged in an earlier bombardment collapsed in the north of the Strip. An estimated 270,000 tents are sheltering displaced people, while more than 400,000 displaced people live in areas vulnerable to flooding or near the seashore. Shortages of fuel, heating equipment and shelter materials are heightening the risks posed by cold weather, flooding and the collapse of damaged buildings.
