Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said mediation efforts between the United States and Iran were continuing to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. He stressed that Washington’s interest in reaching an agreement had not changed and that significant progress had been made. He said he was confident a settlement could be reached, adding that no one should expect a perfect deal. Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reported that initial accounts said two missiles had struck Qeshm Island, though there was no official information about damage. The United States had not announced any attack inside Iran. Tehran had proposed a seven-day plan that included lifting the blockade of its ports, unfreezing its assets, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
