Iraqi tourism association head Mohammed Awda al-Obaidi said Jordan is an important destination for Iraqi tourists, thanks to its archaeological, recreational, therapeutic and shopping attractions, including Petra, Aqaba, the Dead Sea, Jerash and Wadi Rum. He noted that more than 240,000 Iraqi visitors entered Jordan in 2023 and expected visa facilitation to double their numbers. He called for stronger tourism cooperation between the two countries through reciprocal tour programs and the promotion of destinations and joint projects.
