Daily water intake guidelines
Nutrition experts point out that the common rule of drinking 8 glasses of water a day is not based on solid scientific evidence. The appropriate amount of water varies depending on an individual's weight, activity level, climate, and health condition. It is estimated that adults need between 2.7 and 3.7 liters daily from all fluid sources, with the specific requirement influenced by factors such as sweating, fever, or illnesses. Experts also emphasize that adequate hydration can help promote a feeling of fullness, but it does not replace a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
