Floods in Spain cause one death and dozens rescued
Spain experienced floods resulting in the death of a 102-year-old woman in Madrid. Ninety people were rescued by firefighters after heavy rain, with floodwaters exceeding one meter and rainfall reaching 142 liters per square meter. The floods caused vehicle destruction and widespread damage in the area. These floods follow Spain's most intense heatwave on record, and it is estimated that around 2,150 people died from weather-related wildfires in August.
