Trump reinforcing White House fortifications

U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to strengthen the security measures around the White House through a new security plan following increased threats and security risks, especially since his attempted assassination during his 2024 election campaign and another incident last April. The plan includes constructing a permanent wall around Lafayette Park and designating it as an area permanently protected, as well as building an advanced underground security center covering approximately 3,066 square meters to improve screening processes and visitor reception. Additionally, the plan involves installing a security fence along Pennsylvania Avenue to boost protection levels, all as part of the administration’s efforts to enhance security capabilities around the presidential residence. These measures are expected to be completed by July 2028.
