Israel Threatens Land and Air Action Against Lebanon
An Israeli report stated that Hezbollah military correspondent Hillel Biton Rosen called for expanding military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, considering the continued armed presence of the group in Beirut, Sidon, and the Beqaa Valley to be a threat to Israel, even as the northern border remains calm. He emphasized that Hezbollah is rearming itself and preparing for war, and that the failure to prevent its rearmament since the 2006 war has resulted in a terrorist army on the border. Rosen also pointed to the possibility of escalation if tension over the Iranian issue erupts, which could require Israeli ground and air interventions.
