Fadl Shaker's Legal Challenges Post-Trip
The Lebanese Military Court lifted the travel ban on artist Fadl Shaker and returned his passport, while keeping the possibility of his appearance before the judiciary open. Attendance at his trial sessions related to unresolved security cases is required; he may appeal if he cannot attend for health reasons. However, failure to comply with this commitment could lead to the issuance of a arrest warrant and his continued detention until a final verdict is reached. The case's scenarios include either acquittal or conviction, with penalties ranging from imprisonment to fines. Arrest warrants are enforced locally by security agencies, with their international enforcement ruled out for now. The court's decision was based on an assessment of his health condition and the potential prolongation of a possible trial. He is now able to travel outside Lebanon, provided he remains committed to attending judicial proceedings.
