The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has begun paving and rehabilitation works on the Hazmieh – Zahle – Saatureh road, aiming to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on this vital route that connects Beirut to the Bekaa. The work includes sections of the road from Hammana switch to the Drk barrier, and from Haduan to the Koub al-Yas junction. Traffic diversions will be in place for vehicles traveling from Beirut to Bekaa and vice versa during daytime hours, along with restrictions on trucks and pickups traveling in both directions during the day, while allowing them to pass from late afternoon until dawn. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to enhance safety and facilitate vehicle movement on the main roads, especially since this route is among the most heavily trafficked, contributing to accident reduction and improved traffic organization.
