The Vice President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Shia: Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, conducted a 11-day visit to Iran and Iraq. During his trip, he carried the file of Lebanon and the south, demanding an end to Israeli attacks and the resumption of relations with Iran, including the re-establishment of direct flights between Beirut and Tehran. He participated in conferences, received invitations from political and religious figures, and informed officials about the situation in Lebanon, especially in the south, and the ongoing Israeli assaults it faces. Al-Khatib emphasized the need for the international community to intervene to stop these attacks and expressed hope that the political preparations by Arab and Iranian sides to support Lebanon would translate into concrete actions. He also called for the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Lebanon and Iran and the resumption of direct flights. This comes amid a new escalation by Israel, including airstrikes and infiltrations in southern Lebanon, reflecting heightened tensions along the border.
