The US special envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, expressed his discontent over the escalation in Suwayda, emphasizing the importance of implementing the tripartite roadmap signed a year ago between the United States, Syria, and Jordan. This plan aims to reintegrate the province with dignity and secure the citizenship rights of the Druze community. Barrack called for societal dialogue and respect for Syrian sovereignty to address tensions, stressing that the continuation of the political process and the return of security and displaced persons depend on dialogue and a halt to military responses. He pointed out that the region is going through a sensitive moment, warning that the alternative to dialogue is a new round of mourning, and underscoring the need for cooperation between the Druze and Arab tribes, as well as preventing gangs from exploiting the security vacuum.
