Nassar Calls for Quick Weapons Confiscation
Justice Minister Adel Nassar confirmed that handing over Hezbollah's weapons to the state is the ultimate goal despite the difficulties. He stated that the weapons have caused disasters and destruction—not resistance—and that quickly restricting their use would enhance Lebanon’s security and stability. He emphasized the importance of restoring functions of the judiciary, such as the Nabbatiyeh Court, and noted that the investigation into the Beirut port explosion is proceeding correctly, with an expectation of issuing an indictment before the end of the year. Additionally, he announced progress in judicial reforms and laws to strengthen judicial independence, as well as international cooperation with France and Pakistan, focusing on restoring Lebanon’s leading role in the region.
