Owners' Syndicate Calls for Fair Housing Policy
The Homeowners' Union has emphasized that the old rental system continues to harm property owners and deprive them of their rights. They reject any proposals to expand or extend it, stressing the need for a clear and fair housing policy. They clarified that the Rent Law of 2014 and its amendments aim for a gradual transition away from the old rental system, and that any reconsideration of extending those rentals threatens legislative stability and the rights of property owners. They also emphasized that supporting tenants should be conditional upon legal and transparent criteria, and that providing support or allowing tenants to remain in a property without meeting these conditions exposes owners to illegal practices. Additionally, they rejected any proposals that infringe on property rights or prioritize tenant interests in a way that hampers the growth of the real estate market.
