Israeli Army Demands: Weapons or Invasion
The article discusses new Israeli conditions and threats directed at Lebanon, focusing on deepening its influence in the region and pursuing its interests by establishing a fait accompli through territorial encroachments and occupation of areas in Syria and Lebanon. Israel refuses to sit at the negotiating table regarding the withdrawal from occupied territories prior to 1967. It also highlights Israel's strategy of maintaining security zones and control in southern Lebanon, as well as its moves to pressure Hezbollah to disarm, accompanied by repeated threats of military invasion of Beirut if its demands are not met. These developments come amid Lebanese concerns over potential Israeli military escalation and the possible impact on regional stability, while American efforts continue to support initiatives aimed at restructuring the security situation, despite Israel’s uncompromising conditions—including inspections of officers’ lists and the imposition of joint security coordination.
