IMF shocked by presidential challenge
The article discusses the Lebanese President's rejection of the challenge he filed against Article 3 of the bank reform law, following its approval by Parliament. This move has elicited reactions from international entities, particularly the International Monetary Fund, which expressed surprise at the challenge, considering it could harm Lebanon's reputation in the international financial community. These developments come within the framework of the Lebanese government's efforts to implement financial and economic reforms to address the ongoing financial crisis, with an emphasis on the stability and sustainability of these reform measures in a country suffering from a severe economic downturn.
