Flydubai incident classified as terrorist
The UAE confirmed that the incident involving the Fly Dubai aircraft heading to Tel Aviv was a terrorist act, as the co-pilot attacked the pilot with an emergency axe as part of a plan to carry out a terrorist attack, according to investigations announced by the Emirati Attorney General. The crew and the reserve pilots managed to overpower the attacker and regain control of the aircraft after the captain sustained serious injuries. The recurrence of such an incident underscores the severity of security threats to air travel and emphasizes the need to strengthen security measures to confront such terrorist operations.
