Shepherd Invited to Rome by Pope Leo XIV
Patriarch Mar Bechara Peter Rai left Beirut heading to Rome to participate in meetings convened by Pope Leo XIV. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the papal document "The Joy of Love," issued by Pope Francis ten years ago, which focuses on marriage, spousal love, and family life amid the challenges faced by families worldwide. The gathering aims to seek the counsel of Eastern and Catholic church leaders on how to better convey the Gospel to families and society, address young people's hesitation regarding marriage and childbirth, and will run from October 7 to 14, with the participation of 286 figures, including patriarchs, bishops, and cardinals.
