European stocks rebound amid Schneider Electric plunge
European stocks are advancing today after last week's losses, with the Stoxx 600 index rising by 0.2%. However, the French CAC 40 index declined by 0.8%, and the euro fell to its lowest level in 17 months. French shares were hit by financial and political concerns, while Schneider Electric's stock dropped sharply by 7.2% following its $22.6 billion acquisition deal for an American software company. Additionally, markets were influenced by rising bond yields and a decline in inflation expectations, reflecting tension in the European financial markets.
