Lebanon's Coral Reservoirs and Chernobyl Connection
The article addresses the dangers of gas tanks built by Coral Company in the northern entrance area of Beirut without proper authorization. It points out that these tanks pose a significant threat to residents and the surrounding regions, especially in light of repeated incidents similar to the Chernobyl explosions of 1986. The piece highlights that the tanks are unsafe and capable of exploding, despite prior warnings and opposition voices that have been ignored by officials and security agencies. This disregard exposes the area and its population to the risk of a catastrophe due to its strategic location and high population density. The article also reveals that the company is exploiting media coverage and administrative corruption to strengthen its position, despite ongoing warnings. As a result, the presence of these tanks in this location is considered by the author as one of the most dangerous threats, potentially leading to an environmental and humanitarian disaster.
