Berri leads Hezbollah's south initiatives
A report from Lebanon states that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has restrained the campaign efforts launched by his ally, Hezbollah, against Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in an effort to promote calm between Mikati and the residents of Southern Lebanon. Berri emphasized the importance of reactivating the state's presence in the south, as demonstrated by Mikati's visit to Nabatieh and his statements highlighting the government's commitment to restoring and revitalizing institutions in the region, especially following his recent visits to the United States and field tours. Sources close to the Amal Movement indicate that Berri is pushing efforts to strengthen the presence of the state and its institutions in the south, and that these moves are part of a broader attempt to stabilize the situation and establish a balance among the various political and security factions.
