One in five children go to bed hungry in Lebanon
The UNICEF report warns that 22% of Lebanese families are struggling to meet basic needs due to the ongoing economic crisis, leading to an increase in the number of children going to bed hungry and suffering from lack of healthcare and education. The phenomenon of child labor is also on the rise, and many children are facing severe psychological disorders. Additionally, schools have been destroyed, and education has deteriorated as a result of ongoing hostilities since March 2026, which have resulted in the death and injury of many children and the destruction of hundreds of schools. The report warns that these conditions have left long-term psychological and educational impacts on children due to the worsening crisis.
