Washington denies Iranian support
The U.S. State Department confirmed that the Reuters report about Iran sending money to Hezbollah is false. They clarified that Hezbollah is spreading these unknown-source narratives in an attempt to save face. The department explained that the money does not exist and that Iran is facing a blockade on its oil exports and a decline in the value of its currency, which the Iranian regime fears will have an impact. The United States continues to impose sanctions to fund Hezbollah and undermine its capabilities, emphasizing that Iranian support has not brought any economic or security benefits to Lebanon. Hezbollah is also responsible for significant damage to Lebanon due to its involvement in regional conflicts.
