U.S. Denounces Tehran's $200M Aid to Hezbollah
According to media sources, Hezbollah received $200 million from Iran to aid Lebanese displaced persons due to the war with Israel during this year, marking the first financial support of this kind for the party amid the conflict. The U.S. State Department responded by confirming that the funds do not exist and that the party is spreading false stories to improve its image. They emphasized the ongoing economic pressures and sanctions on Iran and Hezbollah to cripple their funding sources, noting that previous assistance for shelter and reconstruction amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars. However, the U.S. administration continues its campaign to choke Hezbollah's financial resources.
