Trump: Witkoff Seeks Iran Deal
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his special envoy is working towards reaching an agreement with Iran, and that the war will end soon, describing Iran as a failed state. He explained that Iran is willing to make concessions to halt the escalation, and that his country will soon withdraw from Iran, amid a sharp decline in oil prices following the passage of large quantities of oil through the Strait of Hormuz in recent days. He also indicated that Washington and Tehran have been conducting indirect talks since September regarding the Iranian nuclear program, and that the Trump administration is considering options, including the possibility of launching military strikes before the midterm elections.
