Leaked Tampa Files Reveal Military Alert for Beirut
.jpg&w=3840&q=75)
The United States, through the Department of Defense and the Central Command, organized a military negotiation round at Tampa Base in Florida. The negotiations are characterized by strict conditions that prohibit any political discussions and focus solely on field arrangements and operational matters. These conditions include the implementation of direct oversight mechanisms to prevent arms smuggling, as well as Lebanon making commitments on timelines and procedural steps for the Lebanese army's deployment in exchange for the withdrawal of Hezbollah's weapons. So far, no official invitation has been extended to Lebanon, and sources suggest that the American approach reflects a desire to secure prior agreement to prevent the negotiations from stalling, amid concerns that security in the region could deteriorate if Lebanon fails to regain control over its border areas.
