Iraqi travel resumes to Tehran
Iraqi Airways has resumed its direct flights between Najaf and Iran after several months of suspension. The first flight arrived at Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran following the company's receipt of a U.S. exemption that allows it to restart flights to Iran. This step is part of a plan to establish daily direct routes between Najaf, Tehran, Mashhad, and Isfahan, aimed at facilitating passenger movement and providing air travel options. The Iraqi government confirmed that the exemption permits only specific flights to operate and represents a temporary measure amidst the U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran.
