Man shot during ICE operation with child present
A security incident occurred in the Marble Hill neighborhood of New York, where U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents fired shots at a man, hitting him while he was inside his car along with a 5-year-old child. Officials confirmed that the individuals carrying out the operation were arresting a man from the Dominican Republic, and the suspect was wounded and transported to the hospital. It is also believed that the child was not harmed. The incident sparked widespread protests and criticism, with some officials deeming it dangerous and in violation of humanitarian principles, and calling for a halt to the agency’s forced enforcement actions. It is worth noting that this incident comes amid a rise in shooting incidents carried out by the Trump administration since his return to the presidency, with at least 21 people shot since then, resulting in 7 deaths and provoking protests across the United States.
