Netanyahu supports US sanctions on ICC
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing the court as "a political body" and approving of the move, considering it a threat to democracies and national sovereignty. On the other hand, the European Commission expressed regret over the decision and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the work of the court, emphasizing its ongoing efforts to seek justice in cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity, especially those related to arrest warrants issued against Israeli officials. The new sanctions are seen as a response to criticisms directed at the court, while the court itself asserts that it will continue its work despite American attacks.
