Trump shares critical comments on Navi Pillay after Nobel award
U.S. President Donald Trump shared a post criticizing the decision to award Navi Pillay the Nobel Peace Prize, considering it an insult to the prize and describing the Nobel Committee as having dishonored itself by giving her the award. The post accused Pillay of hostility towards America and Israel, celebrating terrorists, rewarding Hamas, and criticizing her report on Israel, which concluded with an accusation of genocide in Gaza—a claim rejected by Israel. Another post praised Trump, deeming him more deserving of the prize than Pillay. Navi Pillay, a South African judge, who was formerly the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and led an international investigation into Palestinian territories, has been accused by Israel of genocide. Meanwhile, opponents of her policies argue that the decision to award her the Nobel Peace Prize has sparked widespread controversy.
