US denies Iranian funds reach Hezbollah
The U.S. State Department denied receiving any Iranian funds to Hezbollah, emphasizing that the group has not currently received any funding from Iran. Spokesperson Tom Peggott stated that Hezbollah is spreading false narratives through anonymous sources as a way to cover up the truth, despite Iran being under pressure with its oil exports and facing a collapse of its national currency. The United States affirmed that it will continue to impose sanctions to cut off Hezbollah's funding sources, pointing out that its policies have led to suffering among Lebanese citizens and the destruction of infrastructure. They also mentioned that Hezbollah will not be able to recover or rebuild its terrorist capabilities under the Trump administration.
