Nafi Bellaie awarded 2026 Nobel Peace
Navi Pillay was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026 in recognition of her efforts to promote international law and justice, especially after she chaired a UN investigation committee that concluded Israel committed genocide in the Gaza Strip. The committee confirmed that the award honors her role in ensuring that war criminals are prosecuted, at a time when international challenges related to threats to the rule of law and its role in maintaining peace are increasing. Pillay warned of the escalating political attacks on international law, considering that such developments could revert the world to a system based on power rather than law.
