Hurricane Iasias downgraded to Category 1 in Florida
Cyclone Isaias has reached the coast near Destin, Florida, and has intensified into a Category 1 hurricane with wind speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour. Despite its weakening, the National Hurricane Center warns of the danger of high waves and flooding, especially as power has been cut off to around 590,000 people in Florida and Alabama. The hurricane is expected to pass through Alabama and Tennessee early this week. Emergency measures have been taken, including declaring a state of emergency to ensure the necessary resources are available to deal with the hurricane's impacts.
