Revelations on Explosive Truck at Zahle Border
A high-ranking judicial source revealed that the discovery of the explosives truck at the Dhour Badr checkpoint was the result of a routine suspicion by the checkpoint personnel, rather than based on prior intelligence. He also confirmed that reports of the detention of other trucks last week are incorrect. He clarified that the explosives were not linked to any assassinations, and that initial investigations suggest that the detainees belong to Hezbollah. The transporters are unaware of the source or the final destination of the explosives, which were headed to Beirut to be transferred by another person using the "dead drop" method. The case and the detainees have been referred to the military police for further investigation.
